An introduction to using basic word processing skills in your classroom.
A rubric has been included to help guide you through the collection of all the artifacts you will need to share as evidence of completing the module. Also, the rubric is an assessment tool to be used by the designated personnel in your school district to whom you will submit your completed work for CEU credit.

1. Identify the word processor you currently have on your computer. Popular word processors include MS Word, MS Works, Apple Works, Claris Works and Word Perfect.
2. Visit the Kaleidoscope Jukebox (http://www.ncwiseowl.org/kscop... ). On the left-hand side, click Keyboard, Word Processing, DTP. (DTP means Desktop Publishing) Complete each of the activities. Visit each of the 9 links and complete the activities provided.
3. Print the Word Processing Checklist. Review each task on the sheet. Decide whether you Can Do< the task or Need Help with it. If you Need Help, be sure to list one person you can use as a resource.
4. Open the WP Practice Document in your word processor. Print and complete the WP Practice Directions using the WP Practice document.
5. Review the Editing Tools available in your word processor. Use the Editing Tools Handout as a guide.

3. Create a lesson plan using word processing with your students.
